Toronto International Ballet Theatre offers a unique platform for dancers to bridge the gap between amateur training and professional performance. Our company is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of classical ballet while fostering an environment of artistic growth and professional excellence.
Dancers have the opportunity to work closely with world-renowned choreographers and master teachers. Our productions, including the acclaimed annual Nutcracker, are staged at premier venues, providing invaluable experience in a professional theatrical setting alongside international guest stars.
Who We Are Looking For
Pre-professional and professional ballet dancers with strong classical technique.
Dancers with solid pointe work (for female dancers) and secure partnering skills (for male dancers).
Artists who are disciplined, musical, and committed to rehearsal processes at a professional level.
Advanced students aiming to transition from academy training to professional performance environments.

Selected dancers will be provided a contract to join the company.

A full ballet class including barre and centre work, followed by pointe work and/or partnering combinations where applicable.
What to Expect
Audition Requirements
Experience:
Advanced classical ballet background required.
Dress Code:
Classical ballet attire; hair neatly secured in a bun or appropriate professional style.
Registration:
We ask preliminary registration done but walk-ins are welcome.
Audition Fee:
$30 non-refundable registration fee (waived for professional dancers).

Bring a resume and a headshot

Date: Sunday June 21
Location: Stepanova Ballet Academy at 85 Glen Cameron Road, Thornhill, Ontario
Registration: arrive 30 minutes prior to the audition times below to register

Fee: $30 non-refundable, paid on location (waived for professional dancers)
Early Arrival
Arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time to register and warm up properly.
Preparing for Your Audition
Dress Code
Wear clean, professional ballet attire that allows the jury to clearly see your technical positioning and lines.
Attitude
Demonstrate professionalism: attentiveness, quick correction-taking, and respect for colleagues.
Mental Focus
Stay present and expressive during every exercise; the jury looks for performance quality as much as technique.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to pre-register?
Pre-registration is highly recommended but not necessary. Walk-ins are accepted.
Can international dancers apply?
International dancers are welcome to apply. Please forward a resume and a video (barre & variation) for the Artistic Director’s review to info@torontoballet.ca.
Can I submit a video audition?
Video auditions are accepted for dancers unable to attend in-person. Please provide a link to your high-quality performance reel within the registration form below.
What ages are invited?
We welcome dancers of age 8 to Professionals.
